Family Voice Reminder is run by Skynapse Business Technology Pte. Ltd. ("we"). This page explains, in plain language, what we collect, why, how long we keep it and how to delete it. Contact us at [email protected].

Who can sign up

The account holder must be an adult. Because the app stores the names of family members, who may be children, the account holder confirms that they are the parent or guardian, or otherwise have the consent of each person they add, and agrees to this policy on their behalf.

What we use your Google data for

We read the family Google account's main calendar only to announce reminders on your family's own tablets. Access is read-only: we never create, change or delete events.

  • We read only events in the next 4 hours.
  • Events are held in the server's memory for at most that window. They are never written to our database or our logs.
  • We don't use calendar data for anything except the reminder feature.

Google API Services User Data Policy

Our use of information received from Google APIs follows the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. In particular:

  • we use Google data only to provide the reminder feature you can see in the app;
  • we don't sell it, and we don't use it for advertising;
  • we don't transfer it to others, except as needed to provide the feature (see "Processors"), for security, or to comply with the law;
  • no person reads your calendar data, unless you ask us to for support, it's needed for security, or the law requires it.

What we store

  • Your Google account: its permanent id and email address.
  • A Google access token, encrypted, so the app can keep reading the calendar. It is never logged.
  • Family settings: family name, time zone, quiet hours, voice and reminder options.
  • Family members: the calling name (or how it's pronounced), invitation email and colour you enter.
  • Tablets: the names you give them, when each was last seen, and a scrambled (hashed) form of its access key.
  • Spoken audio: the reminder sound files, which contain names and event titles, are kept for 7 days and then deleted automatically.

Our logs record account numbers and counts only, never names, event titles, locations or tokens.

Processors

  • Microsoft Azure hosts the app and its database, and turns reminder text into speech (Azure AI Speech).
  • Google provides sign-in and the calendar data you allow us to read.

Cookies

We use only the cookies the app needs to work: one that keeps you signed in, one that identifies a connected tablet, and security cookies that protect forms. No advertising or tracking cookies.

Deleting your data

  • In the app, at any time: Account → Delete my account deletes your account, members, tablets and audio straight away and revokes our Google access.
  • Account → Disconnect Google revokes our Google access but keeps your family settings.
  • You can also remove access from your Google Account's security settings at any time.
  • Inactive accounts: if there has been no sign-in and no connected tablet for 12 months, the account is deleted automatically in the same way.

Your rights

We follow Singapore's Personal Data Protection Act (PDPA) and, for users in the European Union or United Kingdom, the GDPR. You can ask us for a copy of your data, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it, by writing to [email protected]. You can also complain to your data protection authority.

Security

All traffic uses HTTPS. Access tokens are encrypted with keys held in Azure Key Vault. Each family's data is kept separate, and a tablet can only ever see its own family's reminders.

Changes

If we change this policy we'll update the date above, and tell account holders by email about important changes.
